March 19- N.E.W. DIRT officers made several changes in the 30th Anniversary schedule for the Seymour Speedway at their board meeting on Monday night.
The season opening 4th Annual Spring Thaw has been canceled for this season. With winter not giving up its grip this year, it will be impossible to get the track in race ready condition by April 6. The season opener is now set for Sunday night April 28. Racing will start at 5 PM and will feature 6 divisions on the 1/3 mile banked oval. The IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars and Sport Mods are joined by the Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders. Also on the weekly programs will be the Fast Track Late Models.
The starting times for 2013 were also altered. During the entire month of May, racing will begin at 5 PM. Starting in June and for the rest of the season, racing will start at 6 PM.
Pit admissions were also discussed and are now set. Club members will pay $18.00 and non-members will pay $25.00. All drivers MUST be a club member and memberships are $10.00 for the season. Anyone interested in entering the pit is urged to get their membership before opening night to reduce congestion at the back gate.
The next club meeting is set for Monday night April 1st at 8 PM at the Crystal Springs Golf club in Seymour. Memberships and parking will be available at the meeting.
