A busy holiday weekend, the Badgers playing in the final 4 and a blustery wind did not deter a hearty group of racing starved fans and a field of 88 cars from opening the 2015 racing season in Northeastern Wisconsin Saturday afternoon at the Seymour Speedway.

N.E.W. DIRT kicked off their 32 season at the 1/3 mile banked clay oval with a strong field of cars in six divisions. A smooth fast track that ran 135 feature laps with only 3 caution during the afternoon.

The IMCA Sport Mods opened the feature portion of the day with defending champion, Jeremy Cota drawing the pole and grabbing the lead at the start. A pair of cautions, 2 of the 3 for the day, bunched the field on laps 6 & 7. Cota again took control with Rookie, Tom Schneider, Mike Dauphinais, Doug Maurer, Jordan Bartz and Cody Schroeder behind.

Cota remained at the front for the rest of the race with and collected his first feature win of the season with Schneider having a great division debut taking the runner up spot. Maurer was able to wrestle third from Dauphinais with Bill Edler and Bartz rounding out the top six.

Josh McDonald led the opening lap of the Street Stock main before Jordan Kurtti moved from sixth into the top spot on lap 2. Kurtti opened a lead on the field with the battle behind. Scott Boulanger worked his way into the runner up spot on lap 7 with Logan Schmeck and defending track champion Ryan Blank moving up on lap 8. After the mid point , Kurtti was still in front while the race for second developed into quite a battle. Boulanger was hounded by Schmeck, with Blank, Ryan Glembin and McDonakd behind.
