Brian Mullen :: IMCA Modified Track Champion Kyle Fredrick :: IMCA Stock Car Track Champion Brad Lautenbach :: IMCA Northern Sport Mods Track Champion

(Seymour, WI) August 28 -”Dancin” Lance Arneson passed Scott Mullen with just 3 laps remaining to take home his second feature of the season in the IMCA ModifiedsatSeymour Super Speedway. Other feature winners were Brian Ambrosius (IMCA Stock Car), Chad Guyette (IMCA Sport Mod), Danny Gracyalny (Street Stock) and Brian Johnson (Four-Cylinders) Seymour would crown Champions in all IMCA sanctioned classes. In the IMCA Modifieds Seymour’s Brian Mullen would add another Championship to his long list of accomplishments. Kyle Fredrick of Oconto Falls took home his first career Championship in the IMCA Stock Cars. In the IMCA Northern Sport Mods, New Franken’s Brad Lautenbach captured his first ever track title by 1 point over Kewaunee’s Brad Theys.

Scott Mullen jumped out to an early lead in the Modified feature with Lance Arneson, Kyle Lentz and Jamie Schmidt giving chase. With the top four all running the cushion, Jason Czarapata would be the first to test the low groove and begin mowing through the field, getting to fifth with only 5 laps remaining. With the race staying green Scott Mullen would begin to encounter lap traffic. Arneson would be the first to make a move sliding under Mullen for the lead with 3 laps remaining. Czarapata followed Arneson to the lead and give it all he had on the last lap but it wasn’t enough as Arneson would take home his 2nd feature of the season in the caution free event, Czarapata took second followed by Scott Mullen, point Champion Brian Mullen and Jamie Schmidt.

With the win Arneson will head into the last week of racing at area local tracks leading the IMCA Wisconsin State points in the Modifieds.

Brian Ambrosius fought off Jon Courchaine to take home his 3rd feature in a row in the IMCA Stock Cars. Justin Jacobson would crawl out of the Danny Gracyalny back up Street Stock and into his IMCA Stock Car and power to the lead of the feature. Unfortunately his reign up front wouldn’t last long as his engine expired on the front stretch pouring oil all over the track. Josh Mroczkowski inherited the lead, as the race restarted Brian Ambrosius and Jon Courchaine went 3 wide around Mroczkowski with Courchaine taking the lead. Over the next 10 laps Ambrosius and Courchaine traded the lead several times and the dog fight would look to come down to the wire. As the drivers entered lap 12, Courchaine’s machine would head to the pits with mechanical problems. Ambrosius cruised unchallenged to the winners circle. Point Champion Kyle Fredrick would place second, Rod Snellenberger would make a late race charge to third, Shawn Havel came from row 6 to place fourth with Greg Gutt fifth. Like Arneson, Rod Snellenberger will head into the last week of racing at area local tracks leading the IMCA Wisconsin State points in the Stock Cars.

Jason Guyette took the lead away from Roger Van Roy early and dominated the IMCA Sport Mod feature.

Roger Van Roy and Jason Guyette battled early for the top spot in the Sport Mod feature with Guyette taking control on lap 4. While Guyette pulled away, all eyes were on Brad Lautenbach and Brad Theys who came in just 6 points behind Lautenbach for the Championship. Theys quickly work to second while Lautenbach sat just inside the top 10. With laps winding down Theys didn’t have enough to catch the leader, as Guyette picked up his 3rd win in a row in the caution free event. Theys placed second, third for Greg Wichman, fourth for a hard charging Eric Arneson and Travis Van Straten rounded out the top five. Brad Lautenbach placed seventh at the checker giving him a 1 point edge over Theys for the Championship. Lautenbach will head into the last week of racing at area local tracks leading the IMCA Wisconsin State points in the Sport Mods.

Point leader Danny Gracyalny took home his first feature of the season in the Street Stocks. Frank Groeschel led the Street Stock feature early but lost the handle on his racer, sending his car spinning in front of the field out of turn 4. Groeschel’s machine was taken to the pits and he was done for the night. A series of cautions slowed action as Travis Springstroh and last weeks winner Phil Hiles battled for the lead. With Hiles and Springstroh sliding up the track point leader Danny Gracyalny ducked low taking the lead and winning the time shorted feature scoring a clean sweep. Jerry Winkler placed second, Gary Kasperek, Phil Hiles and Springstroh rounded out the top five. Gracyalny holds a 13 point edge over Winkler heading into the final night. Point leader Brian “gimp” Johnson would score a clean sweep picking up his 5th feature of the season in the Sport 4’s. Going into the final night Sam Ambrosius sits 7 points behind Johnson in second and Justin Vannieuwenhoven sits third 14 back.
