Seymour August 29- The 2013 season will come to a close this Sunday Night, September 1st, with the final leg of the Summer Holiday Classic series featuring the WDLMA Late Models attacking the 1/3 mile banked clay oval.
This will be the third appearance for the WDLMA Late Models. Over 30 cars have entered each of the first 2 events with Ron Berna and Troy Springborn taking the 30 lap feature wins. The field will be set using draw/re-draw.
The Street Stocks and 4 Cylinder divisions will be completing their point chases.
Jon Ashcraft has led the Street Stock division all season and holds a strong 19 point margin over Mert Summers. Both are looking for their first N.E.W. DIRT titles.
Defending 4 Cylinder Champion, Calvin Stueck, has clawed his way back to the top of the standing the past couple weeks and holds a 13 point spread over Tyler Hungerford.
Point races were concluded in the 3 IMCA divisions last week as Boone starts this week in Iowa. Jason Czarapata successfully defended his Budweiser IMCA Modified title winning his second straight championship trophy.
John Heinz held off 5 time Coors Light IMCA Stock Car champion, Rod Snellenberger to win his first career N.E.W. DIRT title by 2 points.
Cody Hokenstad ran to his first career IMCA Sport Mod championship over Jeremy Cota with a slim 4 point margin.
Jeff Curtain earned the FasTrack Late Model title earlier in the season.
This weeks event will feature full programs in all 6 divisions.
As mentioned, the WDLMA cars will draw/re-draw. The IMCA divisions will also draw/redraw as their point seasons are complete. The Street Stock and 4 Cylinders will use the usual point average to compete.
All will be running for increased Holiday Classic purse money.
Payoff for all divisions will be made after the races.
Pit passes are $20 across the board. Late Model entry fee is $25.00.
Grandstand admission is $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for Senior Citizens 55+ and Students 13-18. Kids 12 and under are FREE with a paid adult.
The Spectator Eliminators were also added to compete in the final night and will close the program.
The club will also be hosting a corn roast following the races to THANK the drivers, crews and fans for their support throughout the season.
Pit gates open at 3 PM and the grandstand gates open at 4 PM.
